The ShadeMaker was designed by Bryan Knowlton, an HVAC tech, and his 10 year old daughter, Presley. It all started when Presley would occasionally accompany her father on weekend service calls. During lengthy repairs she would hold “the ShadeMaker” (umbrella) for her dad. Realizing there was no one to hold the umbrella during the week to protect her dad from the harsh, Texas sun, she decided to create a tool to take her place. Because his daughter will always be the best ShadeMaker on the planet, Bryan and Presley went to work developing the next best thing.
They spent a couple of months designing the highest quality product imaginable. They chose the best electrically insulating hybrid carbon fiber tubing available, UV protected NFPA 701 (2010) fire resistant sail fabric and engineered every part to be as durable and light weight as possible. This high quality American made product is designed to last for years.
We hope it provides you with as much pleasure using it as it gave us while creating it.
